BOTANICAL NAME: Zingiber Officinale
Warm, woody, and spicy, a hint of lemon and pepper, reminiscent of powdered ginger. Aromatherapy properties are, stimulating, warming, aphrodisiac, and tonic. Use in a diffuser/aroma lamp or just a few drops on a tissue and inhale. While quick to warm the tissue also prone to cause irritation when used in high concentration. When used in warm bath to soothe tired muscles ginger should be blended with half & half, honey, or vinegar before adding to the water to prevent the oil from floating to the top of the water. Ginger blends well with citrus oils, woods, and the aphrodisiac oils (vetiver, patchouli, rose, ylang ylang, neroli, sandalwood), ginger will add zest and heat to a blend. Use only in moderation as skin irritation is possible in highly concentrated applications. Avoid sunlight after applying to skin (slightly phototoxic).
